Erase Tough Stains Effortlessly: BISSELL Little Green Multi Purpose Portable Carpet Cleaner 1400B Review

Accidents are bound to happen in any home. Whether it is a pet tracking muddy paws across your living room rug, a spilled glass of red wine on your favorite armchair, or stubborn ground-in dirt on your car’s upholstery, localized stains can ruin the look of your home furnishings. Renting heavy industrial carpet cleaners is bulky and expensive, while traditional spot-cleaning sprays often just smear the mess deeper into the fabric fibers.

Enter the BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet Cleaner, 1400B. Designed as the ultimate targeted stain remover, this legendary compact spot cleaner combines powerful suction, targeted water spraying, and tough scrubbing action to flush out deeply embedded dirt and spills from carpets, upholstery, and vehicle interiors.

In this comprehensive review, we will analyze the cleaning performance, portability, tank capacity, and real-world versatility of the BISSELL Little Green 1400B to help you decide if it is the essential cleaning tool your home needs.

What is the BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet Cleaner (1400B)?

The BISSELL Little Green 1400B is a compact, portable deep cleaner built specifically to tackle stubborn spots, spills, and ground-in stains on soft surfaces where full-sized carpet cleaners cannot reach. It uses a combination of water, cleaning formula, manual scrubbing, and strong motor suction to extract dirt directly out of carpet fibers and fabric upholstery.

Equipped with a dual-tank system that separates clean water from dirty extracted water, the Little Green 1400B ensures you are always washing your fabrics with fresh cleaning fluid. Its lightweight design and long reach make it an ideal tool for pet owners, parents, auto detailers, and anyone seeking professional-level spot cleaning at home.

What Comes in the Package?

BISSELL Little Green 1400B Portable Unit: Compact main motor housing with built-in carrying handle.
3″ Tough Stain Tool: Specialized brush nozzle that sprays, scrubs, and suctions out stubborn spots.
Removable Clean & Dirty Water Tanks: Large capacity 48 oz tanks designed for easy filling and emptying.
Trial-Size BISSELL Cleaning Formula: Formulated to lift deep stains and neutralize lingering odors.
Flexible Vacuum Hose & Long Power Cord: Ensures ample reach across staircases and car interiors.

Key Benefits: How It Improves Your Cleaning Routine

1. Powerful Spot and Stain Extraction
Unlike surface sprays that mask odors or push stains deeper into carpet padding, the BISSELL Little Green injects water and cleaning formula deep into fabric fibers. The high-torque motor suction then pulls out the liquefied dirt and dirty water, drying the area quickly and removing the stain permanently.

2. Compact and Ultra-Portable Design
Dragging a heavy, full-sized carpet cleaner up a flight of stairs or out to the driveway is exhausting. Weighing less than 10 lbs, the Little Green 1400B is lightweight and features a convenient top handle, allowing you to carry it effortlessly anywhere stain removal is needed.

3. Hygenic Dual Tank Technology
Cleaning with dirty water only spreads bacteria around your home. BISSELL solves this by utilizing two separate removable tanks: one for clean water and formula solution, and another for dirty extracted fluid. This guarantees clean washing action every single time.

4. Multi-Surface Versatility for Home and Auto
The Little Green 1400B is not limited to living room rugs. It excels at cleaning fabric couches, velvet chairs, carpeted stairs, mattress tops, dog beds, and automotive seats or trunk liners, making it a comprehensive soft-surface cleaner.

5. Eco-Friendly and Pet-Safe Spot Cleaning
BISSELL designs its cleaning formulas to be free of heavy metals, phosphates, and dyes. This makes spot cleaning safe around children and pets while effectively lifting organic messes like pet urine, vomit, mud, and food spills.

Why Users Love the BISSELL Little Green 1400B

The Ultimate Solution for Pet Owners
Pet accidents are unpredictable. Pet parents love how fast the Little Green sets up—allowing you to suction up liquid messes and eliminate odors before they soak permanently into carpet underlayment.

Auto Detailing Favorite
Car enthusiasts and professional detailers frequently use the Little Green 1400B to restore dirty vehicle interiors. The 3-inch tough stain tool fits easily into narrow floor mat footwells and car seat contours, lifting years of built-up road grime and spilled beverages.

My Personal Analysis & Hands-On Review

Design & Build Quality
The BISSELL Little Green 1400B features a sturdy plastic shell engineered for durability. The hose wraps neatly around the base of the machine for storage, and the tanks click securely into place with quick-release latches. The translucent dirty water tank lets you see the murky water being pulled out of your carpet, providing instant visual feedback on its deep-cleaning power.

Real-World Cleaning Performance
During testing on a high-traffic carpet runner with dried coffee stains, the Little Green performed exceptionally well. Pressing the spray trigger releases a fine mist of warm water and formula over the stain. After scrubbing briefly with the brush head, slow suction passes pulled up the liquid, leaving the carpet noticeably brighter and only slightly damp to the touch. The area dried completely within two hours.

Pro Tip: For old or set-in stains, spray the cleaning solution directly onto the spot and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes before scrubbing and suctioning. Use warm tap water (not boiling) in the clean tank to maximize cleaning performance.
